What is Creativity
In Arkansas?
Creativity
In Arkansas (CIA) is a non-profit organization of parents,
teachers and other community members that sponsors the Odyssey of the Mind
program in Arkansas.
Arkansas Odyssey of the Mind was established in 1982 by Arkansans for Gifted
and Talented Education (AGATE) to help Arkansas
students participate in the nationally recognized program Odyssey of the
Mind. CIA was founded in 1999 to take
over the leadership of Arkansas Odyssey of the Mind. The board of directors of CIA is composed of
parents, teachers and concerned community members that donate their time to
helping put forth a quality program of creative problem-solving. There are four regions with representation: Northeast, Northwest, Southern and Central. CIA
hosts regional and state competitions to prepare students to compete at World
Finals Odyssey of the Mind. CIA is
affiliated with the Odyssey of the Mind program sponsored by Creative
Competitions, Inc. The CIA organization
is a member of the Arkansas Activities Association. The Arkansas
legislature provides some funds to help teams attend World Finals Odyssey of
the Mind.
Thousands of students from kindergarten through college
have participated in the Arkansas Odyssey of the Mind program over the last 25
years. As we head toward our thirtieth
year we will continue to provide quality programs and competitions.
